Persepolis

Since Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi was animated, the animation affects the story a lot. The story follows a coming of age for Marjane with her life during the Iranian Revolution. She is was exposed to some gruesome concepts. The animation in Persepolis , made it a bit easier to take in the horrors of the Iranian Revolution along with the executions', and the beatings of people. If it was actual film, there would be some aspects that could not be shown or it would be more like a documentary versus a story. The animation also allowed certain things to be drawing in ways so that the movement helps us see how the people are from the main girl's point of view. An example is when the main girl is wearing western ideas, but the teachers or nuns do not allow this and they move in an "evil" manner. Animation allows film to do more and express ideas differently than film of actual humans.
